Description
Across many organizations, professionals are increasingly expected to share their expertise through internal training, mentoring, and knowledge-sharing initiatives. However, while they may be subject matter experts, many lack formal training in facilitation and adult learning principles. Research in workplace learning (e.g., Kolb, 1984; Knowles, 1980) emphasizes the importance of experiential, learner-centered approaches in adult education. To address this gap, the organization proposes a structured Trainer of Trainers (ToT) programme to build facilitation capacity among its staff.
Purpose of the Training
This workshop is designed to equip selected staff with foundational facilitation skills, enabling them to design and deliver engaging, reflective, and participatory learning experiences. The training will use a hands-on, practice-based approach modeled on internationally recognized instructional development frameworks.
Outcomes
By the end of the 3-day workshop, participants will be able to:
· Apply adult learning principles to structure effective training sessions.
· Use the CARD model (Context, Activity, Reflection, Document) to plan and deliver impactful sessions.
· Facilitate interactive learning using a variety of active instructional strategies.
· Deliver short, focused mini sessions and provide constructive peer feedback.
· Reflect on their facilitation practice and contribute to a culture of peer learning.
